Jonathan Krehm
Jonathan Krehm is the most senior Disciple of Grand Master Eddie Wu. He joined Wu’s Tai Chi Chuan Academy in November 1977. He is President of both the International Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan Federation and Wu’s Tai Chi Chuan Academy, Toronto. He is also a past President of the Canadian Tai Qi Quan Federation.
He has achieved the Duan Wei Level 9 Senior Master Coach Diploma of Recognition from Wushu Canada and a 2026 Inductee of the International Wushu Kungfu Hall of Fame. He was awarded the 5th Duan by The Chinese Wushu Association. He has competed in tournaments in Canada, the USA, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, England and Sweden. He was Grand Champion of the Swedish Tai Chi Chuan Championships in 2006 and Grand Champion of the Wu Style International Tai Chi Chuan Tournament in 2007. Besides his regular classes in Toronto, he has taught in England, France, Ukraine, Greece, Tahiti and Madagascar.
Evonne Tan
Evonne Tan is the eldest female disciple of Grandmaster Eddie Wu (Gate Keeper of the Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan & Head of the Wu Family). She is a certified Instructor of the International Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan Federation, and teaches at the Toronto Academy.
Her involvement in the Chinese martial arts community includes championship organization, being a competitor, coach and traditional tai chi chuan judge. She was one of the lead organizers at the 1998 & 2006 Pan American Wushu Championships held in Toronto. She competed in the 1st Canadian Chinese Kuo Shu Federation Championship, winning gold in Traditional Tai Chi form and silver in Tai Chi weapons. At the International Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan Federation competition in Singapore she was the gold medalist in her favourite weapon forms – sword and spear.

David Robert
David Robert is a senior disciple of Grandmaster Wu Kwong Yu ( Eddie), and the Chief instructor of the Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan Academy in Toronto. He has been a student of Grandmaster Wu since 1986. David has been involved in many competitions in the Americas and China, both as a competitor and as a judge. He has achieved the Duan Wei Level 9 Senior Master Coach Diploma of Recognition from Wushu Canada and a 2026 Inductee of the International Wushu Kungfu Hall of Fame. He was awarded the 5th Duan by The Chinese Wushu Association, Beijing. Currently, he holds the title of Grand Champion of the Wu Style International Tai Chi Chuan Tournament for the last two consecutive 5-year terms.
David teaches in Toronto as well as internationally through online and in person classes to students and instructors in England, Greece, France, Austria, Canada and the USA.
Doug Collins
Doug Collins is a disciple of Grandmaster Wu Kwong Yu. He is a senior level instructor at the Wu’s Tai Chi Chuan Academy, Toronto. He has been training and teaching for over 35 years.
His contributions to the Canadian Martial arts community include participations in championships as a competitor, a coach and traditional tai chi chuan judge.
He worked as a rehabilitation therapist for CAMH for several years, offering those suffering from addiction a means to work on their physical and mental health, manage stress. He conducts workshops in sword, sabre, and spear.
Paul Dempsey
Paul Dempsey is a Senior Instructor at the Wu’s Tai Chi Chuan Academy, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He was elected club Vice-President at the Toronto Academy Annual General Meeting of December 19th 2003.
He joined the academy in 1995 and has been the Beginners Class chief instructor since 1997. He became a disciple of Grandmaster Eddie Wu in 2002. Paul is both a martial artist and an artist of many disciplines. At present, he is an Associate Professor at the Ontario College of Art and Design and is also a Hand Gun Safety Instructor at the Toronto Revolver Club.
Maria Choy
Maria Choy is a disciple of Grandmaster Eddie Wu and has been an active member of Wu’s Tai Chi Chuan Academy, Toronto since 2007. She is a certified Instructor of the International Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan Federation and teaches at the Toronto Academy.
Maria has competed in numerous competitions over the years. Among her proudest achievements are the three gold medals she won at the 3rd International Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan Federation Competition in Singapore in 2017. More recently, she won gold at the 2024 Wushu Canada Competition.
In addition to her teaching and competition experience, Maria was a member of the Executive Organizing Committee for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Toronto Academy in 2025.
